oct 2009 marked 5 years for us in this house! amazing, yes!
which also meant time for a little shaking it up...
i've done some major editing (sending to consignment) and pete has done some major painting, patching, hanging, tiling.........
cleaning out and freshening up was exactly what this house needed and this super cold winter was the perfect time to get it done!
we worked a little black magic in the kitchen
(it's not black really, more like deep charcoal- sherwin williams 'urbane bronze' to be exact)
i love how colors pop on the gray- and while there was some discussion as to how dark/cold/dreary this would make the kitchen- i actually have found it super energizing!
once this ball got rolling we just kept on moving... pete had been wanting to try his hand at tiling and with a little extra down time he spend a few afternoons doing this.....!!!!!
the new kitchen walls demanded (really!) a little change in the dining room,
and our beloved chocolate walls went 'diana gold' like the adjoining den.
the two rooms seem much more open now and i like the flow...
thanks for taking a little tour!
big love to pete for all the time spent doing these acts of service! :)

Yea for shaking up... You always do such a wonderful job with your home. You really do have a gift for making a cozy creative space that people feel comfortable in. I just love love the handprints :)
When can you come to our house??? I love all the changes! I have been wanting to paint our bedroom gray (not as dark as your kitchen) with green accents, and now I think we will! : )
